Music Industry Exchange - Milan/Hamburg

The Music Industry Exchange – Milan / Hamburg is an international education and exchange programme for students and young professionals from the music industry.

The project is aimed at people aged 20 to 29 from Germany and Italy who have already gained initial experience in the music industry or who work, study or are completing training in a related field. The programme offers a total of 30 places, 15 of which are available for participants from Germany.

The programme gives German participants insights into the Italian music market, includes workshops on internationalisation topics in the music industry, creates opportunities for exchange with professionals from Milan’s music industry, and offers the chance to build industry contacts in Germany and Italy.

Programme
The programme in Milan includes visits to music companies and organisations, workshops, networking formats and exchange among participants. Participants will gain insights into different areas of the local and international music industry and get to know Milan as a music city first-hand.

The programme will be held in English.

Target Group
Applications are open to students and young professionals aged 20 to 29 who live in Germany and have a connection to the music industry. The application form asks, among other things, about previous experience in the music industry, motivation for taking part, and music industry-related interests.

Dates
The trip for German participants to Milan will take place between 28 September and 2 October 2026.

Costs
Participation in the Music Industry Exchange is free of charge. The following costs will be covered: flight between Hamburg and Milan (*), accommodation, and the on-site programme. Costs for meals, transfers to and from the airport, and local public transport within the city are not covered. 

(*) Participants who are not based in Hamburg are responsible for arranging and covering their own travel to Hamburg.

Application
Applications can be submitted via the application form. Application deadline: 23 August 2026, 6:00 p.m. All applicants will be notified of the outcome by email by 31 August 2026.

About the Project
The project is implemented by the Milan-based music project agency Butik together with Hamburg Music. The programme is supported by the Italian music industry magazine Rockol and the Italian entertainment network The Corp.
