Skilled Workers Program

The Skilled Workers Program is dedicated to enhancing the visibility of the music industry and improving career opportunities within it. Faced with challenges like delayed training for emerging talent, the shift of workers to other sectors, and fierce competition for skilled professionals, Hamburg Music has developed a comprehensive strategy with support from the Hamburg Authority for Culture and Media. This strategy began taking shape in various program modules at the end of 2023. Already, two of these modules are up and running, and more are set to launch throughout the year.

"Music Business Careers" Web Portal

Launched in early January 2024, the musicbusiness.careers web portal offers in-depth insights into the music industry's career paths and training opportunities. It's a go-to resource for anyone in the German-speaking world looking to kickstart or advance their career in our industry. The website aims to entice people into the music industry, providing a clear overview of the various job roles available and sharing up-to-date job listings.

Recruiting Coaching

Since late 2023, small and medium-sized businesses in Hamburg's music industry have had access to a specialized "Recruiting Coaching" program. This initiative helps these companies enhance their skills in recruiting and retaining employees. The program includes a series of tailored in-house training sessions. Its main goal is to provide select companies with specialized HR knowledge, help them pinpoint their unique challenges in this field, and offer practical support.

The application phase for the program has already concluded.

Career Change Program

Hamburg Music's career change program aims to provide talented people who want to switch to the music industry with in-depth industry knowledge and support them in building a network. The training program offers basic knowledge of the German and Hamburg music industry as well as exciting insights into the key sectors of recorded music, music publishing and live entertainment. It is for career changers who want to establish themselves in labels, distributors, music publishers, venues or other sub-sectors of the industry.
