MI-RAP
The "Music Industry Resilience Acceleration Programme" (MI-RAP) aims to strengthen the music industry against today's and tomorrow's challenges. The focus areas include skill shortages, innovation, and climate change. Launched in November 2023, this three-year project is being implemented in collaboration with partners from eight Baltic Sea countries: Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Germany.
To address the global challenges faced by the music industry, we are developing innovative and sustainable tools with our partners. The project will explore the use of artificial intelligence to support workflows in music businesses and examine the potential of queer entry programs to reduce skill shortages.
A stronger and more cooperative music market in the Baltic Sea region not only elevates the importance and influence of the entire area in the international music business but also strengthens Hamburg's role as a key player and link between different markets. In the first phase, methods, tools, and guidelines will be developed over the coming months and then applied and tested in the individual cities. In the third year, the knowledge gained will be made available to other interested cities, administrations, associations, and institutions. The project has a total budget of 2.6 million euros and is funded by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme and co-financed by the European Union. Hamburg Music has taken the lead in developing the program and is the main project coordinator.
